Subject: Why Hate Jon and Kate
I don't have a TV, but I've been reading a lot of articles lately bashing this show called Jon and Kate Plus 8.
I checked out the show on YouTube, and was totally shocked by what I saw.
Jon and Kate have a set of twins and a set of sextuplets, leaving them with 8 kids to take care of.
But I was appalled to see the interactions between Jon and Kate.
Kate is constantly cutting her husband off, correcting him, and being cynical and sarcastic when he tries to get a word in edgewise.
No wonder rumors were raging about Jon and Kate getting a divorce--these two do not look like a happy couple.
And I don't know them, but I can venture a guess why.
Kate is just destroying Jon's self-esteem, instead of protecting it.
Strong couples compliment each other all the time.
They take the time to appreciate their partner's skills, talents, and assets, and they make the effort to compliment them.
Genuine compliments make a person feel good about themselves.
Just one compliment can make someone's entire day brighter.
Instead of finding the good things in their partners, Jon and Kate are finding excuses to criticize and tear each other down.
Think about it: the person you trust the most, your spouse, is calling you stupid, lazy, ugly, and whatever else.
How are you going to feel?
Pretty crappy.
So here's what you can do today:
Compliment your partner.
Take the time to notice the things they do for you, what they're wearing, the talents they have.
Don't assume that just because you're together your partner automatically "understands" that you love them and think they're great.
It needs to be said...so say it.
And compliment the other people in your lives, too.
Not only does it boost their confidence, but it helps you, too.
The more you find the good things in others, the more you'll be able to see the good things in yourself.
The more you focus on the positive over the negative, the happier you'll be.
It's the first step to preparing yourself for success.
The next step?
Quickly getting yourself into a state of excellence, with the mindset, confidence, and tools you need to make your dreams a reality.
